SmartBenefits
Georgetown employees who use Metrobus and Metrorail can receive pre-tax transit benefits by enrolling in SmartBenefits. Employees can elect to deduct funds from their paycheck before taxes and add them to their SmarTrip card. After enrolling, the funds will be automatically added to your card each month and any unused benefits will be rolled over to the next month.
Enrollment
Enroll in either or both Transit and Transit parking benefits. Transit includes travel via Metrobus or Metrorail, as well as MARC, VRE and MTA. Transit parking includes parking at Metrorail stations.
To enroll, waive, or make changes to your SmartBenefits, complete the SmartBenefits Transit Payroll Deduction form. Changes are only permitted once per year. Smart Benefits allows for minimum deduction of $20 and a maximum deduction of $315.
