Students

Washington, DC is a transit-rich, bike and pedestrian-friendly city. Students do not need a car at Georgetown University and can travel around the city via a variety of modes of travel. 

UNIVERSITY SHUTTLE (GUTS)

The free Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (GUTS) connects Georgetown University with the Rosslyn metro on the Orange, Blue, and Silver Lines, and the Dupont Circle metro on the Red Line. Click here for all the GUTS routes and schedules.

SAFERIDES and LATE NIGHT SHUTTLES

The SafeRides shuttles provide late night shuttle service every night from the Main Campus to the West Georgetown and Burleith neighborhoods. In addition, the university provides late night shuttle service to M Street, Dupont Circle, and Adams Morgan. Learn more about SafeRides and Late Night Shuttles.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Georgetown University is directly served by a number of public bus routes, and the GUTS shuttle easy connects the campus to Metrorail stations on the Red, Orange, Blue, and Silver Lines. Read more about public transportation options at Georgetown

BICYCLING

Georgetown University is a bike-friendly campus and offers many options for parking bike around campus. Students can also sign up for Capital Bikeshare memberships. Learn more about biking at Georgetown University.

CAR2GO

Students can sign up for a free membership with Car2Go, the carsharing service that allows drivers to park on most legal on-street spaces. Car2Go is a convenient way for students to travel to and from campus and around DC. Learn more about Car2Go and sign up for a free membership.

ZIPCAR

Students are eligible to receive discounts on Zipcar memberships. Zipcar allow students to rent cars by the hour or the day for trips around the DC area. Learn more about Zipcar and sign up for a membership.

STUDENT PARKING

With very few exceptions, undergraduate students are prohibited from parking vehicles on campus and/or on residential streets in Georgetown, Burleith, and Foxhall. This is a violation of the Code of Student Conduct. Students with disabilities who require parking can contact the Academic Resource Centerto make alternative arrangements.

A limited number of spaces are available for commuter students at satellite lots in Rosslyn, VA. The university also offers a limited number of parking spaces for current graduate, evening, and continuing education university students, as well as students attending local colleges and universities that are members of the Consortium of Universities.
